Power plant Linth-Limmern AG (KLL), part of the Axpo group, is building a new pump storage station at Linthal. The capacity of the KLL plants will increase about 1’000 to a total of 1’460 megawatt.
With an investment volume of 2.1 billion Swiss Francs, Linthal will be the largest hydro power project in 2015 and is currently the largest construction project in the energy sector in Switzerland.
Rowa supplies a complete heading installation behind the open gripper TBM to build the access tunnel of the cavern construction site. This tunnel ascends from 800 to 1’600 m above sea with a gradient of 24%, has a length of 3.76 km and a diameter of 8.03 m.
The plant behind the TBM consists of an anti-slip-back system, back-up installation including integrated supply train with hoist and special installations for subsequent construction areas such as niches etc.
